Over the years there have been a lot of different styles of the camaro, but none are a appealing as the first generation, and of the first generation the 1969 model year is my favorite, so many things were done the that particular year of camaro.
It was the height of the muscle car wars of the 1960′s, we had all kinds of dealers competing to build the best, and fastest camaro ever, I could list them all day long, but we’ll stick to the ones that people know, like Yenko Chevrolet, Baldwin Chevrolet, Berger Chevrolet, and Fred Gibb Chevrolet these dealers far and away did the most for the camaro.

I realize that I’ve been slacking on the articles a bit, but it’s time to supercharger this whole article writing idea, with that said let’s get right down to business. The Camaro, has been a long running favorite of the muscle car crowd, and for a good reason, the Camaro could be had with so many different options that it was hard for a true muscle car lover / hot rodder not to like.
Since the Camaro first came out in 1967, it has generated a lot of fans, and if you owned some other kind of car, it could make a Camaro hater out of you really quick, the top of the heap in muscle cars, as far as I’m concerned is the ZL1 Camaro, if you wish to argue this point, well that’s up to you, but you go right a head and show me another muscle cars, besides the ZL1 Corvette that could run a 10.06 ¼ mile, with the addition of slicks and uncorked headers, and of course the right driver.

Back in 1967 Chevrolet would release a car that would change everything in the muscle car world, they were by no means the first company to build a muscle car, but without a doubt they were the first to introduce the low slung, sporty muscle car look of the late 1960′s.
I won’t argue that Pontiac built the first true muscle car, it was called the GTO, but it was not a true mid sized car, and the idea behind American muscle was to put the biggest engine, in to the smallest car, you know, the power to weight thing.

The Z/28 Camaro was conceived of to race on the “SCCA or Sports Car Club Of America” circuit, and it made a name for it’s self there, the Z/28 was built to handle through the corners, and that it did, and a good job of it on the SCCA road courses, the Z/28 had it’s fair share of victories.
