I have decided to place myself on the list for one of the brand new camaro’s, and 1n the first quarter of 2009 I will purchase the car, and I can’t wait, while I’m a staunch 1960′s muscle car freak, I was highly disappointed when Chevrolet deleted the camaro from it car line.
While this is by no means a 1969 Z/28, the new 2010 SS has a lot of good points, and nothing can be a 1969 Z/28, but a 1969 Z/28, so I have had to accept the fact that new is new camaro is what I have, and I will buy another 1969 again.

The argument between camaro enthusiasts about which of the camaro’s is the top dog between the 1969 Z/28 camaro, and the 1969 SS camaro seems to be a never ending one, but the real truth is that these cars were built for different purposes, so they are both the top camaro in their particular forte.
The Z/28 camaro was built to run the SCCA racing circuit, and it was a top contender, winning a lot of the races, the SCCA had a engine size limit of no more the 305 cubic inches, hence the birth of the 302 Chevrolet small block in 1967, this engine started out as a two bolt main in 1967, and by late 1969 was converted to a four bolt main.

In 1969 two companies joined together to build an exceptional camaro, the two companies were Baldwin Chevrolet, and Motion Performance, and they built what would become one of the most remembered super camaro’s built by any company.
They of course used the most popular Chevy big block to build the Baldwin Motion Phase III Camaro, and that big block is the 427 CID rat motor, and it would power this car to greatness, this car was a monster in every sense of the word, you’d better have a strong heart before buying one of these.
